Professional Career Highlights
Mario joined STV, Inc. as Systems Safety Manager in May 2025. In this capacity, he leads the development and execution of comprehensive system safety strategies for major transit and infrastructure projects. Prior to joining STV Inc., Mario worked at Bi-State Development Agency where he oversaw operations across three MetroBus facilities, with more than 650 employees, managing a multimillion-dollar operating and capital improvement budgets. Prior to returning to the Metro East in 2023, Mario worked for TriMet in Portland, OR. While employed at TriMet, he served as Senior Manager, of Operations Training & Development, where he was responsible for developing operational and training plans for multimillion dollar transit projects. Before joining TriMet, he worked as the Sr. Manager of Training for Bus & Rail Transportation at Hampton Roads Transit in Norfolk, VA, where he was responsible for the training program for more than 450 Bus & Rail Operators, Supervisors, and Controllers. Mario has also held several other major positions for the East St. Louis Housing Authority, and Union Pacific Railroad.
