Area Resources for Community and Human Services (ARCHS) has granted $345,997 to six area agencies to provide free support services for victims of crime and those impacted by crime in their communities.
Agencies awarded grants include:
Better Family Life
Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis
Crime Victim Center of St. Louis
Fathers and Families Support Center
Mission: St. Louis
Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis
Through ARCHS’ Neighborhood Healing Network (NHN), the agencies offer free supportive services that focus on:
• Personal Advocacy: Help with applying for public benefits, completing crime victim compensation applications, accessing childcare and transportation assistance, obtaining emergency financial assistance, and finding legal aid resources.
• Emotional Support: Individual counseling services.
• Information and Referral: Referrals to victim service agencies and other support resources, along with information about victim rights.
• Community Engagement: Educational programming on trauma, crime and violence, and available community resources.
• Shelter and Housing: Relocation assistance.
ARCHS created NHN in 2020 at the request of former Missouri Governor Mike Parson. Since then, NHN partners have collectively delivered services to more than 3,000 individuals related to adult physical assault, survivors of homicide, domestic violence, vehicular victimization and community exposure to violence. During the most recent grant cycle, NHN agency partners added an additional $161,816 in matched or donated funds and resources to enhance victim services.
ARCHS is one of Missouri’s Community Partnership organizations, connecting vulnerable children and families to essential human services on behalf of the state. Last year, ARCHS and its local partner agencies generated a $63.3 million regional economic impact while serving 350,137 people.
