In September, ARCHS’ Kids Vision for Life-St. Louis (KVFL) partnership celebrated 15 years of providing vision care services to St. Louis area children. The celebration included the addition of a second vision care van to serve more students.
ARCHS secured a $550,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Social Services to purchase, customize, and staff the van, that began visiting area schools in October. This van will enable KVFL to serve an additional 20 schools across the region, reaching 13,000 more children annually.
Since KVFL-St. Louis began in 2009, it has examined over 400,000 students, provided over 40,000 pairs of glasses, and invested $6.2 million into local schools helping bridge the gap for children who might otherwise go without the vision care they need for success in school and life.
