It’s heartening to hear how we at Midtown and the Family PRIDE program have provided such crucial support for DeSchae during what sounds like an incredibly challenging time. Raising three young boys while working and managing personal stressors is no small feat, and having a network of support can make all the difference. It speaks volumes about the power of community and the importance of programs like Family PRIDE in providing that support system.
DeSchae’s words truly capture the essence of what a supportive community can mean to someone facing challenges. It’s wonderful to hear how much she values the connections and support she’s found through Family PRIDE and Midtown. “I am abundantly overjoyed and thankful to be part of such a dynamic and versatile group of caring individuals,” she said. “Having someone in your corner who completely understands what you’re going through means so much to me. It’s such a great thing to see people coming together to help each other, no matter what they’re going through.” The impact of feeling understood and supported by others who can empathize with your experiences is immeasurable. “Midtown really is family-oriented, which you don’t find with a lot of programs,” DeSchae remarked. “I’m able to bring my kids into a safe environment around people I really trust. My son John considers Ms. MaDonna a second grandma, always asking when we can go to GiGi MaDonna’s house, and my son Joshua runs straight to Ms. Barbara every time he sees her. That love and trust is something I’ll never take for granted.” It’s heartening to know that she and her sons have found a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive and build meaningful relationships.
