On September 6, Caring Communities (CC) held its 36th Anniversary Reunion. More than 150 guests – including many original CC staff members – gathered to reminisce and acknowledge the vital role CC played in the St. Louis human services landscape.
The genesis of ARCHS, CC is considered a national pioneer in the field of community and school partnerships. During the event, CC Founder, Khatib Waheed, and key members of his team were acknowledged and celebrated. Numerous people impacted by CC’s work offered heartfelt testimonials. Bill Dent, Executive Director of the Family and Community Trust (FACT), lauded CC and how it launched the state-wide FACT Community Partnership model in 1993. As well, ARCHS’ President and CEO, Wendell E. Kimbrough, was specially thanked for his 20 years of leadership.
A special thank you to Better Family Life for providing the event space and to the entire ARCHS and CC Alumni teams for producing the event. In addition to the reunion, a special CC history project has been launched.
